Where does the data sit at rest?
Your workspace, client records, uploaded documents and every output are stored on dedicated Linode servers in Toronto. Not a shared region on a hyperscaler.
Where does inference run?
Per provider. A model call is a transfer: the prompt and the context sent with it go to that provider’s endpoint. On standard plans OpenAI and Anthropic run in the United States. DeepSeek runs in China and is never a default. You only reach it by choosing it for a custom agent. Cohere is a Canadian company, but its public API does not pin a region, so we don’t claim Canadian inference for it on standard plans. If inference has to stay in Canada, that is what the Enterprise sovereign options are for.
Who can be compelled to hand it over?
Workilo is operated by AIAB Software Group Inc., a federally incorporated Canadian corporation, and your stored data sits on servers in Toronto. Each model provider is subject to its own jurisdiction for the prompts it receives. That is why we publish the routing instead of hiding it.
